I’m a licensed CPA with over 8 years of experience practicing across the public, private, and social sectors. I am also a prospective scholar pursuing interdisciplinary research in the field of accounting related to information disclosure, corporate strategy, and financial economics.
I am currently interested in exploring the relationships between financial reporting disclosure and capital market behaviors through empirical research considering the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the principles of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG).
I would like to explore decision making by corporate boards as a result of the shift to stakeholder capitalism. My research objectives include measuring the effects of ESG disclosure on financial market outcomes and analysts behaviors, understanding how stakeholder capitalism affects corporate strategy & organizational behavior, and leveraging archival ESG datasets to inform accounting standards & regulatory policy.

NYC Pension Case: ESG Arguments
Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance published top research related to field of corporate governance. Each week, I’ll be sharing links to a recent ESG related post along with an analysis on the topic and resources for others interested in exploring further.
This week’s article relates to a recent New York Pension Case in which the Americans for Fair Treatment workers’ group is suing three New York City pension plans to preclude the NYC pension funds from considering ESG factors in their investment decisions.
